Due to an uneven number of teams in some divisions, not all teams played the same number of games. To keep standings as fair as possible, teams are grouped primarily by total wins rather than winning percentage.
A “tie” in the standings is considered to exist when:
- teams have the same number of wins, or
- one additional game could have realistically resulted in the same record.
Examples:
- 3–2 and 3–3 are considered tied
- 2–3 and 3–3 are considered tied
- 4–1 and 4–2 are considered tied
- 2–3 and 4–2 are NOT considered tied
When teams are tied in the standings, the following tiebreakers are used in order:
- Head-to-Head Result
If the tied teams played each other, the winner of that matchup receives the higher seed. - Average Point Differential (APD)
Calculated by taking a team’s total point differential and dividing by games played.
Standings Definitions
- GP — Games Played
- W-L — Wins and Losses
- PF — Points For (total points scored)
- PA — Points Against (total points allowed)
- PD — Point Differential (PF minus PA)
- APD — Average Point Differential per game (PD divided by GP)
